How much does UGC content cost in the UK?

Real UK price ranges for UGC photos and videos in 2026, what changes the price, and how per-piece rates compare to a monthly content package.

Last updated 16/09/2026

The short answer

In the UK, a single piece of user-generated content (UGC) from a creator usually costs between £60 and £250. Photos sit at the lower end, short-form video at the higher end, and anything with scripting, props or a studio look costs more again.

Buying content monthly instead of piece by piece brings that down a lot. On our own packages, content works out at £22.92 to £41.67 per piece depending on how long you commit for.

Typical UK rates, piece by piece

  • Single lifestyle photo: £60–£120 from a newer creator, £120–£200 from someone with a strong portfolio.
  • Short-form video (15–30 seconds): £120–£250, more if you want a scripted hook, voiceover or several cut-downs.
  • Unboxing or first-impressions video: £100–£180, usually the cheapest video format because it needs the least direction.
  • Studio-style product photo on white: £20–£60 per image from a product photographer, separate from creator content.
  • Paid ad usage rights: often charged on top — expect 25–100% of the content fee if the creator licenses rather than sells outright.

Add the product itself. Creators keep whatever you send, so a £40 product effectively adds £40 to the cost of that piece.

What actually moves the price

  • Video vs photo. Video takes longer to shoot and edit; a 25% premium over photo is a fair rule of thumb.
  • Volume and commitment. Creators discount heavily for repeat monthly work because it removes their own selling and chasing.
  • Rights. "Organic only" is cheapest. Full paid-ad and whitelisting rights cost the most.
  • Direction. A loose brief is cheap. Specific shot lists, scripts and locations cost more.
  • Admin. Finding, vetting, briefing, chasing and reviewing five creators a month is normally a day or two of someone's time. It rarely shows up on the invoice but it is a real cost.

Per-piece vs monthly package

Suppose you want 12 pieces of content a month. At a mid-range £130 per piece bought individually, that is £1,560 a month plus your own time sourcing and managing creators.

Our equivalent monthly packages, with 3 creators each delivering 4 pieces:

  • 1 month: £500.01 a month for 12 pieces — £41.67 per piece.
  • 6 months: £350.01 a month for 12 pieces — £29.17 per piece.
  • 12 months: £275.01 a month for 12 pieces — £22.92 per piece.

You can check any combination yourself on the pricing page.

How to keep costs sensible

  • Start with more photo than video, then add video once you know what converts.
  • Send one product per creator rather than a full bundle.
  • Reuse the same brief across creators so you get comparable content.
  • Commit to a longer term only once you have seen a month of work.
  • Buy content outright with full rights so you never pay twice to run an ad.
