Where to find UGC creators in the UK

Six places UK brands find UGC creators — agencies, marketplaces, hashtags, referrals and more — with the pros, cons and vetting checks for each.

Finding creators is easy. Finding good ones is not.

Type “UGC creator” into Instagram and you will find thousands. The hard part is finding people who are UK-based, available every month, able to follow a brief, and still on the roster in three months’ time. Here are the six ways brands do it, and what each one actually costs you in time.

1. A vetted agency roster

The agency vets creators before they join, assigns them to your brand each month, manages briefs, deadlines, revisions and shipping, and chases anyone who goes quiet. You pay one monthly price and content arrives.

  • Best for: brands that want content every month without running the process themselves.
  • Watch out for: agencies that do not vet — ask how creators are approved before you commit.

This is how our monthly packages work: creators are vetted, UK-based, and you own everything they shoot for you.

2. Creator marketplaces

Platforms where creators list themselves and brands browse profiles. You get choice and self-serve browsing, but you become the agency: vetting, briefing, contracting, chasing and paying each creator are all yours. Good for occasional one-off campaigns; heavy work for a monthly programme.

3. Hashtag and location search on Instagram and TikTok

Search hashtags for your niche plus “UGC UK”, browse who is already making content about products like yours, and check their recent posts for consistency. It is free, and you can find genuinely good people this way — but you will vet everyone yourself, and the good ones are often already booked.

4. Ask your customers

Your happiest customers are natural creators. Run a simple call-out — an email, a package insert, a story post — and see who replies. You get authentic fans, but they are usually not experienced at following briefs or hitting deadlines, so expect more hand-holding.

5. Influencers who also make content

Many influencers sell UGC-style content alongside their posts. You get polished work and some can post too — but influencer pricing tends to track follower count, so you may pay reach prices for content you could get cheaper from a dedicated UGC creator.

6. Do it in-house

Film it yourself or give it to a team member. It is free and totally authentic — but in-house content slowly reads as brand content, and it competes with everything else your team is doing. Most brands use in-house for behind-the-scenes and creators for product-led pieces.

Whichever way you go: vet before you pay

However you find creators, check these before committing to a month:

  • Three or more real portfolio examples, ideally in your product category.
  • Recent, consistent work — their last post should not be six months old.
  • They are genuinely UK-based (this matters for shipping and brief calls).
  • They reply quickly. Slow responders at the start get slower later.
  • You own the content outright, including use in paid ads.

The shortcut

If monthly creator content is the goal, a vetted roster saves you every one of these steps. See what a package costs, or read how to brief a creator so the content that comes back is right first time.
